AI is automation at a level of where you could tell the computer to make me an image of a person doing something and you could end up with a realistic image of someone drinking coffee and reading the newspaper. The program made all of the decisions within the guidelines you established. At ART DOLLS Magazine, AI will not be used to create realistic images of people, but may be used to enhance graphic images such as this heart warming puppy. (Do you know how hard it is to make a puppy sit still and how many pictures it would take to get the right look... let alone go find a puppy when you don't own one?) We will not use AI in writing articles for the magazine and writers submitting an article must state that AI was not used to write the article or generate a doll image. It also means when ART DOLLS Magazine publishes Updates, Posts, and in each issue of the ART DOLLS Magazine it does not use AI when using doll images or people. There is no question of “is this AI or not?” If it looks “real”, it is real. Because of that, when it is time to get out information sometimes there needs to be a catchy image to go with it. Then we use clip art and sometimes AI generated images but only when there is no doubt that the image was AI generated. That is why the cartoonish graphic art look to the images. It is intentional. Just as the graphic art of “Tony, the Tiger” was created for Cornflakes and the three little chefs for Rice Krispies cereal created with computer software to make them move, AI may be used to catch your eye, but never to mislead you here at ART DOLLS Magazine. In this world where it is going to be harder to know what is real and what isn’t, ART DOLLS Magazine doesn’t want to add to that confusion. When people send in their images, we will use them. We will use graphic programs for enhancements, such as removing backgrounds, but we will not generate “real looking” people or dolls for promotion or articles. This is the trust we at ART DOLLS Magazine hope to build through understanding what it is real and true to the ART of communication.

This is where ART DOLLS Magazine come in. We would love to help promote the Doll Clubs. Keep in mind we only had three weeks to create our first issue. There is no history for us to go to for connecting with the Doll Clubs. Let us know who you are. What are you doing and do you offer in person doll meetings or online? The International Art Doll Registry (IADR) has an informal doll club though we call it a gathering as we are a hodgepodge group. We are an online group from around the world. Mostly we talk about doll making and costume designs but we also are known to discuss the weather just because it is fun to hang out with other doll makers. The Shylock Doll Gathering has been open mainly to IADR members, but we love talking to other doll lovers too. For more information contact Lesley at [email protected]. No fee to join the doll group, but you will have to share a little bit about yourself as only doll lovers are accepted *smiling*. Keep in mind, to have a shout-out in the magazine is FREE. Just go to the forms section on the website and choose the one for Doll Clubs to tell us about your Club. If you are hosting a non-profit doll event, you can have that announced under the EVENTS in the magazine for FREE as well.
The Directory is divided into the different sections of doll retailers, clubs, organizations, doll artists, and services. The directory has two available options (Basic and Directory Plus), for purchase with a renewal listing fee charged each year. For more information contact us at [email protected].

First of all - DOLLS magazine is no longer being published. There is no printed version anymore. They had already decided they would no longer offer the printed copy and were moving towards digital copies only. I don't know why they then decided to simply end DOLLS magazine, but glad they were open to talking to the IADR so that we can keep the "light on" for Doll Collectors and Doll Artists and more. They have been terrific in the transition of ownership and we are grateful to them! What made this transition possible is because the International Art Doll Registry (IADR) already offered a digital magazine. We want to keep what made DOLLS special and blend it with a little love and interest to evolve into the new ART DOLLS Magazine. So, when you see these adds offering to sell you past or current issues of DOLLS, they are a "ripoff". (Notice the white line by the shoes of the doll - that was probably a subscription tag that was ripped off of the magazine to take the picture!). Please note - there is currently only one way to receive the new magazine and also still have access to past "digital" issues of DOLLS and that is on this new ART DOLLS Magazine site. For subscription information, please visit: www.ARTDOLLSMagazine.com/subscription.html If you have a subscription with a magazine company that has automated billing, please contact them so they do not continue to bill you for another subscription as we currently have no contracts with any of them. The annual subscription for ART DOLLS Magazine is $24.95 for 6 issues (approximately one every two months), which also includes access to the subscribers only portion of the website where we have included the availability to read and download every digital DOLLS magazine edition from 2015 to the present, once a subscription is processed. For the current subscribers to DOLLS magazine, we have agreed with the former owners to fulfill you subscriptions but as a digital magazine only. The ART DOLLS Magazine will still be the voice for Doll Collectors, Doll Historians, Doll Lovers, and Doll Artists as the DOLLS magazine was such a place and we want to keep that community alive and growing.
